Quasars/Morfogenesis

My new work is ready! Finally, after more than two years of research, the work can be presented during the exhibition 'Fabrica Vitae' in Greece, and after that in Holland.

A Quasar (quasi-stellar radio source) is an astronomical object, a very energetic and distant (thus ancient) active galactic nucleus. A quasar is generally seen as a compact region in the center of a massive galaxy, that surrounds its supermassive black hole. Looking at a quasar, one is looking back into history, at the very birth of the universe, billions of years ago.

The work ‘Quasars/Morfogenesis’ contains five embryo’s of different species, captured in crystal and water. The crystal ball allows the viewer to look into the future, from the present passing away. Looking back at the very beginning of things.

The complete work will be online as soon as the exhibition starts. But here's a little preview: the embryo of a Atlantic spotted dolphin (stenella frontalis), Carnegie stage 15, 35 to 38 days old.
